Director of Events
Retirement Reformation – Leadership Team
Volunteer Role
As Director of Events, you will be a vital part of the core leadership at Retirement Reformation and serve as the primary point of contact and champion of our ever-growing calendar of events. You will share your passion for challenging older adults for Kingdom thinking by organizing and executing high-impact and high-quality events to activate older adults for ministry.
You will collaborate within the team to move organizational goals forward by heading up, or participating in projects that will strategically position us with the local and national church. These partnerships will better help seniors discover their call in their retirement years and identify and activate God's meaning and purpose for them in this season of life.
Have you ever dreamed of combining your skills in event planning with the desire to see lives changed? Retirement Reformation understands that there are 40 million Christians who have been largely sidelined from creating Kingdom impact because they have bought into the world's lies about retirement. The church has largely failed these seniors by providing few to no opportunities for significant ministry. When seniors discover their call in their retirement years, they identify and activate God's meaning and purpose for them in this season of life. We challenge and equip older adults to embrace Kingdom thinking and live out the preferred future God has for them.
Who you are:
Seasoned. You are either in or near your own retirement years.
The host with most. You know what it takes to put on a powerful and efficient event and have a proven track record of doing so.
Someone who appreciates a good conference.
Organized. A place for everything and everything in its place.
Dynamic. You are a positive person with lots of energy and new ideas.
Know how church works. You’ve been around a while and know that church structure and procedure go far beyond the quarterly bake sale.
You can sell ice to a snowman. You know that success is often found in good marketing, and you have experience in that field.
A good talker. You are well-spoken, especially when it comes to public speaking and working a crowd. When your Pastor goes on vacation, they consider calling you before the youth pastor to fill the pulpit.
Connected. You know people, and the people you know also know people. You understand the power of -- and need for, networking.
Knowledgeable. You’ve been around the block and have a solid grasp of the challenges, opportunities, and joys facing Christian retirees.
An idea person. You are constantly thinking up new ideas, developing existing ideas, and figuring out ways of putting new ideas into practice.
Kingdom-minded. You will do things no one else is doing to reach people no one else is reaching.
Persevering. You are quick to listen with a proactive, not reactive, personality. You recognize that our greatest lessons often lie behind the door of our biggest mistakes. Your passion and focus are not easily dispelled.
An excellent communicator. You are able to explain complex programs and systems as exciting opportunities for Kingdom impact.
